A man from Bozeman was driving northbound in a Mazda Protege on U.S. Highway 287 when he was struck by a Chevrolet pickup heading southbound that crossed into his lane. After the collision, the pickup spun and wound up in a nearby field. The Mazda spun and ended up on a side road. The driver of the pickup was airlifted to a nearby hospital, but the driver of the Mazda died.
