Phillip R. Oliver

Phillip Oliver graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1984 with honors.  He has an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business Administration and a BA from Virginia Tech. Prior to law school, Phil spent 12 years in the computer industry in various capacities including programmer, computer center manager, branch manager and salesman.

Phil is a member of the Yellowstone County Bar Association, the State Bar of Montana, and the American Bar Association.  He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Montana and the Ninth Circuit.

Prior to forming his own firm in 1988, Phil was Corporate Counsel for Corner Pockets of America, Inc., a franchising company of upscale billiard parlors and restaurants with franchises and company facilities located in many mid-west and western states.

Phil’s business background is a considerable aid in his law practice.  His knowledge of accounting and financial analysis has proven extremely useful in many business cases.   His background and continued involvement with computers is beneficial to his high-tech clients.

Phil’s practice concentrates in business, labor and real estate law.  His clients include a wide variety of local businesses in eastern Montana.

Phil’s real estate practice includes, zoning applications, quiet title actions, contracts for deed, leases, subdivision restrictions and deed work.

Phil’s business practice includes the formation of corporations and partnerships, partnership dissolutions, franchising, liquor and gaming applications and protest hearings, and general business contracts.

Phil handles wrongful termination, discrimination and ERISA cases, as well as personal injury matters and bankruptcies, both corporate and individual.
